Inaugural Ceremony at Semtokha Substation

Humble completion inaugural ceremony of 220kV Semtokha substation from 2×20 to 2x50MVA was held on 31st July 2012 by unfurling of the Khadar by Dasho Bharat Tamang, MD, BPC in presence of Director, GMs, RMs, SEs and Project Managers of BPC Thimphu, marking the official completion of the project.
Tower erection inaugurated

On February 4, 2012, inauguration ceremony of the tower erection of the 400 kV D/C Transmission Line from Punatshangchhu HEP I to Lhamoizinkha (Package A) was carried out amidst humble prayers. The inauguration was attended by Head of Department, EDCD & D&CD and Chencho Gyeltshen, Engineer from the Head Office, the BPC Project Team (Lobesa & Kamichu) and the Consultant ( POWERGRID), Lobesa. First tower being erected is tower No. AP 52, type DD located in Gebachu, Wangdue. Package A transmission line headed by Mr. S. B. Chhetri, GM, CJG (a former employee of BPC). Mr. Chhetri informed that his team will try to complete the erection within 20 days. Package A has a target to initiate erection of additional 2 Nos. towers in February 2012.
