BPC Day

On July 1, 2012 BPC celebrated the 10^th anniversary and marked a decade of service to the Nation. Coinciding with the occasion several events were organized at the head office including Lhabsang Thruesel, Tshokor, Offering of 1000 butter lamps, Moenlam, Blood Donation Campaign and finally dinner for all who attended the BPC Day celebration.

Glimpses from the BPC Day Celebration:

Event 1:  The monks of Semtokha Shedra performed Lhabsang Thruesel and Tshokor ceremony at the Corporate Building.

 Event 2: Offering of 1000 butter lamps and conducting of Moenlam ceremony at the Dechenphodrang Monastry. BPC Chairman Gyalpoi Zimpon Dasho Penjore attended the Moenlam ceremony and took part in lighting 1000 butter lamps with Dasho Bharat and the BPC Management team.

Event 3: Blood Donation Campaign – The employees and well-wishers of BPC donated 63 units of blood to the JDWNR Hospital during the BPC Day celebration.

Event 4: Celebration at the head Office. Tengye Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk Hon’ble Minister MOEA was the chief Guest for the celebration. Other guests included Hon’ble Thrizin Namgay Penjor, Thimphu Thrompon Kinlay Dorjee, Director General Yeshi Wangdi and other well-wishers from DHI and the power sector. Several ex-employees of BPC also attended the function.

Award Ceremony: One employee, two divisions and one member each from the Board and Management were recognized during the BPC Day celebration. The following are the recipients of the BPC Day award:

1. Certificate of Appreciation – BPC awarded certificate of appreciation to Mr. Yeshi Wangdi, DG, Department of Hydropower and Power System for being in the BPC Board right from 2002 and providing excellent guidance/leadership to BPC.

2. Certificate of Appreciation – BPC awarded certificate of appreciation to Mr. Gem Tshering Director, TW for contributing immensely to the growth of BPC by being in the Management team since the inception of BPC in 2002.

3. Best Employee 2011 award – Mr. Jamyang Choeda, Supervisor RECD Samtse was awarded the best employee for 2011.

4. Best ESD 2011 – ESD Thimphu was awarded the best ESD of BPC for the year 2011

5. Best TD 2011 – TMD Gyelpozhing got the award for the best transmission division for 2011.
