**About us**
This office known as the System Coordinator Office (SCO)/National Load Dispatch Center (NLDC) under the Development & Construction Department (D&CD) has two distinct functions, i.e. of power system coordination and NLDC implementation. By the end of NLDC project implementation, the intent is that the SCO staff and the NLDC implementation staff would be merged to operate the power system, fulfilling the power system coordination functions as laid in the grid code and also maintain and develop the NLDC as per the changing times and technology. The National Load Dispatch Center (NLDC) project for Bhutan has been awarded to AREVA T&D India Ltd., on the 15th of October 2009. The implementation of NLDC is planned as a 24 month project and is scheduled for completion on the 14th of October 2011. POWERGRID are the consultant for the project.
