Waiver of late payment surcharge to LV customers

We are pleased to inform all our valued customers that the BPC Management and Board has approved the waiver of late payment surcharge to all low voltage (LV) customers for the lockdown period and also for the electricity bills prepared on average consumption basis but not delivered.

Therefore, electricity bills of all LV customer with due date falling within the lockdown period and electricity bills prepared on average consumption basis but not been delivered shall be considered for the waiver of late payment surcharge as follows:

  1. Bills already cleared: If customer has already paid the electricity bills with penalty amount, the penalty amount so paid shall be credited in the future bills.
  2. Bills not cleared: If customer has not paid the electricity bills,the current bill shall be corrected and the customer shall pay the corrected bill within the due date to avoid further penalty.

BPC Management

The Bhutan Power Corporation Limited, Electricity Services Division, Wangdue will be carrying out test charging of newly constructed distribution lines and substations in the following places under Daga Gewog, Wangdue Dzongkhag and shall remain charged thereafter.

1. Babshey: 12th October 2020

2. Ngaba & Doluwa: 14th October 2020

Therefore, the public are advised to keep themselves and their livestock away from vicinity of newly constructed lines & substation to avoid electrical hazards.

BPC shall not be responsible for any mishap for noncompliance to this notification please.
