The Contracts between Bhutan Power Corporation Limited and Contractors were signed on September 06, 2019 for On-grid Rural Electrification works of Off-Grid households by using loan savings from Rural Electrification Project (Phase 2) under JICA Financing.
The Contract for the Site Development & Architectural Designs for BPC’s Residential Colony at Nakula, Semtokha, Thimphu vide Contract Agreement # BPC/DCSD/CWD/04(March 2018) was signed between M/s Gandhara Designs and Distribution & Customer Services Department on 19th March 2018, 10:00 AM at the BPC Board Room for a Contract Price of Nu. 810,000.00 (Ngultrum Eight Hundred Ten Thousand) only, and was endorsed by Honorable Managing Director.
The Contract for the Regional Corporate Office Building at Phuentsholing (Civil Works), vide Contract Agreement # BPC/DCSD/CWD/03(March 2018) was signed between M/s Kencho Dorji Construction Pvt. Ltd, Thimphu and Bhutan Power Corporation on 14th March 2018, 10:00 AM at the BPC Board Room for a Contract Price of Nu. 46,001,230.13 (Ngultrum Forty Six Million, One thousand Two Hundred Thirty and Cheltrum Thirteen Only)
General Manager, DCSD and Regional Directors of Gelephu and Phuentsholing were also present for the event.
The contract for Tender: BPC/DCSD/DMS/79, Tender Name: ESTABLISHMENT OF DISTRIBUTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (DMS) UNDER THIMPHU ESD has been awarded to M/s. Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) on 26th June, 2017 at Nu.248,416,806.10.
The DMS project for Thimphu Distribution Network is envisioned to improve the overall electrical power reliability, quality and operational efficiency of the distribution network in Thimphu thereby improving customer satisfaction apart from modernization of the electrical grid. About 467 plus numbers of Substations, Distribution Transformers (DTs), Ring Main Units(RMUs), Sectionalizers and Auto Reclosure Circuit Breakers (ARCBs) spread in about 300km of 11 and 33 kV lines are planned to be adapted to be monitored and controlled from state of the art DMS Control Centers which will be located in Babesa and Chubachu in Thimphu.
Contract Agreement for Supply & Construction of 400 kV Double Circuit (QUAD MOOSE ACSR) Transmission Line from Jigmeling substation to Indo-Bhutan Border has been signed between BPC and M/s. KEC International Ltd., India on November 17, 2016 at Nu. 224.214 million. The contract period is 12 months and the project should be contractually completed by November 16, 2017. The contractor has assured to complete the work within the best effort schedule of 10 months. The construction of the transmission line will be managed, monitored and supervised through Superintending Engineer Office in Jigmeling.
