The United Nations celebrate World Water Day on 22nd of March every year to tackle the growing water crisis in the world by addressing the reasons why so many people are deprived of clean and safe drinking water. This year, it was themed as “Water for all-Leaving no one behind” and the National Environment Commission Secretariat in collaboration with the Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN) and World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Bhutan marked the day by organizing a cleaning campaign along the banks of Wangchhu and, an art and essay competition amongst the schools under Thimphu Thromde.Read more »
On 29th December, 2017 Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC) was awarded with ISO Certificate by Bureau Veritas which certifies that the Management System of BPC is in accordance with the requirements of the Management System Standard detailed below:
ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
The original certificate was handed over to BPC on 7th November 2018 during the officials first surveillance visit to BPC to audit standard compliance.
BPC looks forward to sustaining the certificate and pledges to further improve the system standards for better working environment and safety of the employees.
