A team comprising of 4 technicians who volunteered to support Electricity Services Division, Phuentsholing shall leave for Phuentsholing today. The team shall work to provide electricity connection to the construction site of 400 bedded quarantine facility at Phuentsholing.

CEO, BPC met with the volunteers and expressed his appreciation to the technicians for having volunteered during such exigencies. He advised all of them to strictly follow the MoH COVID-19 protocols and other protocols as laid down by the COVID-19 Task Force. He also reminded them to follow the electricity safety practices strictly while discharging their duties. A set of PPE consisting of facemasks, face shield, hand gloves and hand sanitizers were distributed to the volunteers.
The team shall be stationed in Amochu containment area facilitated by Phuentsholing COVID-19 Task Force.
Five employees who had volunteered in the first group are still at Phuentsholing and have been engaged in the operation & maintenance of lines.

Notification to HV and MV Customers (Continuation of Relief Measures till December 2021)
In line with the directives received from the Department of Revenue & Customs, Ministry of Finance (MoF), RGoB vide order no. DRC/Fiscal Measures-Covid-19/2021/06 dated 1st July 2021 and further instruction received from DHI vide letter no. DHI/CEO/DOC/2021/431 dated 1st July 2021, BPC shall continue the following relief measures to its HV and MV customers till December 2021.
- Demand charges to be billed on actual consumption basis;
- Demand charges to be deferred on a case by case basis upon application.
The HV and MV customers are therefore requested to kindly note the following payment schedule;
- Energy charge to be paid as per the normal monthly payment schedule;
- Demand charge shall be deferred for three months if approved by the Government;
- For availing the deferment, customer shall apply to the Department of Revenue & Customs, MoF, Thimphu for their review and approval;
- If deferment of demand charge is not approved, customer shall clear it as per the normal monthly payment schedule;

Today, the CEO met with 4 technicians and 1 driver who have volunteered to go and support the frontline personnel of Electricity Services Division, Phuentsholing. As a part of the COVID-19 contingency plan of BPC, support from other divisions are being provided to Phuentsholing during these difficult times.

The CEO expressed his appreciation to the employees for having volunteered during such exigencies. He advised all of them to follow the COVID-19 protocols as laid out by the Task Force very strictly and also to follow the highest standard of electrical safety practices. A set of PPEs consisting of facemasks, face shield, hand gloves and hand sanitizers were distributed to the volunteers as well.
The team shall leave for Phuentsholing on 10 July 2021 and shall be stationed at Malbase containment area identified jointly by BPC and the task force.
