Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) was formed as an offshoot of the erstwhile Department of Power, the then Ministry of Trade and Industry and was launched as Public Utility Company on 1st July 2002 with an objective that the corporatization of the utility functions would lead to greater efficiency and better delivery of electricity supply services in the power sector.
Later, the Ownership was transferred to Druk Holding and Investment Limited (DHI), the commercial arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan, established in 2007 upon issuance of Royal Charter in 2007 “to hold and manage the existing and future investments of the Royal Government for the long term benefit of the people of Bhutan”

Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) is pleased to invite bids from eligible Medium Class(W4) contractors for the supply, construction, testing and commissioning of one no. 132kV double circuit transmission line with ACSR PANTHER at Kilikhar, Mongar (approximately 1.1 km), and upgradation of one line bay at the existing 132kV substation at Kilikhar as defined in this bidding document (hereinafter referred to as the Works).
The scope of works, in brief, includes:
a. Check survey, soil investigation, supply of line materials, transportation to site, insurance, storage, erecting, stringing, and testing & commissioning of all lines as specified above. The scope of work shall also cover associated civil works, including clearing of Right of Way, benching, tower foundations, retaining & breast wall, etc.
b. 132kV Line Bay extension, including foundation works for bay equipment, fabrication and erection of support structures, supply of hardware, clamps & connectors, erection, testing and commissioning of line bay equipment, cable trench and laying of power and control cables, and erection, testing and commissioning of control and relay panel, etc.
c. The prospective bidders will be required to sign and submit the Integrity Pact and Bid submission form provided in the Bidding Document and a scanned copy of the Bid Security as stipulated in the Bid Document in Ariba e-procurement. The original copy of the Bid Security shall be submitted to any BPC offices before the opening of the Bid.
d. Bids complete in all respects, along with the duly signed Integrity Pact and Bid form, may be submitted through Ariba e-procurement on or before 1200 hours on July 12, 2024, and the Bids shall be opened on the same day at 1430 hours.
