Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) was formed as an offshoot of the erstwhile Department of Power, the then Ministry of Trade and Industry and was launched as Public Utility Company on 1st July 2002 with an objective that the corporatization of the utility functions would lead to greater efficiency and better delivery of electricity supply services in the power sector.
Later, the Ownership was transferred to Druk Holding and Investment Limited (DHI), the commercial arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan, established in 2007 upon issuance of Royal Charter in 2007 “to hold and manage the existing and future investments of the Royal Government for the long term benefit of the people of Bhutan”
Electrification Division (ED), Distribution Construction Department (DCD), Distribution Services (DS), Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC), Thimphu invites sealed bids from small class category Bhutanese Contractor with W4 (Power & Telecommunication Works) for the construction and completion of Electricity Distribution Infrastructure (hereinafter referred to as “Labour contract of deposit work and Planned work respectively”).

The bidding document can be purchased by interested eligible bidders on the submission of written application together with valid trade license, Construction Development Board (CDB) registration certificate and valid tax clearance certificate with the above address. Bidding documents can also be downloaded from the BPC’s website www.bpc.bt. The bidder who have downloaded the bid document and wish to participate should register with ED, DCD, DS, BPC, Thimphu, prior to the closing of bid sale date.
