The Salang Tendrel Ceremony for the construction of the 132/33kV Indoor Gas-Insulated Substation located at Rewan, Mongar was performed yesterday.

This is to seek blessings for the smooth commencement and successful completion of the project in accordance with traditional customs to invoke good fortune, remove obstacles, and ensure safety and prosperity throughout the project duration.

The Project Information Board was also inaugurated to marks the formal commencement of the project and signifies the commitment of all stakeholders towards timely and successful implementation.

The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Executive Officer of Bhutan Power Corporation Limited, officials from the Tsakaling Gewog Administration, representatives from other agencies, and employees of the Bhutan Power Corporation Limited.

The construction of the substation is a vital infrastructure development aimed at strengthening the regional power network, improving system reliability, and meeting the growing electricity demand. The project reflects the government’s continued commitment to sustainable energy development and reliable power supply for the people.

The project is expected to significantly enhance the reliability, capacity, and quality of power supply in the region, while supporting socio-economic development and future load growth.

The submission deadline for the Tender No. BPC/C&PD/CMS/TENDER-2026/04 (Construction of G+2 (Class-III) staff quarters at ESSD, Phuntshothang & Langchenphu, Samdrup Jongkhar) is extended till 1400 hours, February 03, 2026. The Bids shall be opened at 1430 hours on the same date.

All other terms and conditions specified in the bidding documents shall remain unchanged.

The submission deadline for the Tender No. BPC/C&PD/CMS/TENDER-2026/05 (Associated civil works for the Augmentation Works of the 400 by 220 by 66 by 33 kV Indoor Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substation at Norbugang Industrial Park (NIP), Samtse, Bhutan) is extended till 1400 hours, February 05, 2026. The Bids shall be opened at 1430 hours on the same date.

BPC would like to inform all bidders that amendments have been made to the Bill of Quantities for the work, “Labour Contract for planned works under Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag”. The BoQ for the work under Item No. 5.7.2.1.3 (Construction of separate LT Feeder to bifurcate from 11kV Composite line at Langchnephu) under sub-item No. 5.7.2.1.3,1 ( LV ABC line, 4 core 50sqmm with existing steel tubular pole) has been changed as “ LV ABC line, 4 core 50sqmm”.  Kindly note that LV ABC line will have to be constructed using new poles and not on existing steel Poles.
