Today, the CEO met with 4 technicians and 1 driver who have volunteered to go and support the frontline personnel of Electricity Services Division, Phuentsholing. As a part of the COVID-19 contingency plan of BPC, support from other divisions are being provided to Phuentsholing during these difficult times.

The CEO expressed his appreciation to the employees for having volunteered during such exigencies. He advised all of them to follow the COVID-19 protocols as laid out by the Task Force very strictly and also to follow the highest standard of electrical safety practices. A set of PPEs consisting of facemasks, face shield, hand gloves and hand sanitizers were distributed to the volunteers as well.
The team shall leave for Phuentsholing on 10 July 2021 and shall be stationed at Malbase containment area identified jointly by BPC and the task force.
BPC thanks them for such a self-less act and wishes them a safe return.
Notification on replacement of analog meters with digital meters
BPC would like to notify all our valued customers that starting from July 2021, BPC shall carry out replacement of analog meters with digital meters. The key reasons for replacement are:
- It can capture, display and store all important electrical parameters that can be accessed in case of any discrepancies;
- The historical electricity consumption pattern and details can be downloaded any time.
The meter replacement works shall be carried out off-line i.e. after putting off the supply during which customers shall experience momentary supply interruptions. Therefore, we would like to request all our customers to kindly bear with us and allow our field staffs to carry out the replacement.
July 1st, 2021 marks 19 years of Bhutan Power Corporation Limited’s service to the nation. This year’s theme was based on “Protect Self, Protect Others”. BPC was established as a public utility company after bifurcation of Department of Energy, MOEA on July 1st, 2002.
To celebrate 19th BPC Day, the day started with an offering of 1000 butter lamps and prayers for the wellbeing of the employees and the Nation at the Dechen Phodrang Lhakhang by the Management and Head of Departments. The program followed with tree plantation at the Head Office and launching of Self- Meter Reading, KPI Dashboard, BPC Caller Ring Back Tone, BPC Welfare Scheme and a customer information video on MCCB and RCCB.

The CEO in his address thanked the employees for their dedication and hard work, service to the Nation and reiterated on the importance of safety. He said unlike the past years, although the celebration has been discreet and low profile, he hoped for a better days where all the employees could gather and celebrate the day together.

The Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) would like to request for proposals from interested local firms to participate in the Supply and Installation of Blinds for BPC Head Quarter Offices in Thimphu.
Interested bidders, with Valid Trade Licenses and prior work experience may submit their technical and financial proposal to Sr. Manager, Civil works Division, DCD, DS, BPC, Thimphu latest by July 13, 2021 and will be opened at 2.30 pm on the same day at BPC Conference Hall.
