


The Medal Award Ceremony was held on December 15 2021. During the ceremony, the CEO read the Royal Command circulated by RCSC and said that the medal is an acknowledgement of each individuals dedication and hard work for serving the Tsa-Wa-Sum. He further added that with receipts of such prestigious award, one must take pride and responsibilities with dedication in the years ahead. He congratulated all the recipients on behalf of BPC Family. A total of 237 medals were received this year of which 86 were Bronze, 90 Silver, 54 Gold and 43 received Lifetime Achievement Medal.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC) and the College of Science & Technology (CST) was signed virtually on 17th November 2021. The MoU was signed by the Chief Executive Officer, BPC and President, CST in the presence of officials from both sides. The signing of this MoU is an effort towards establishing a partnership between the industry and academic institutions to enable the exchange of applied technical knowledge and skills through joint research activities and programs.

BPC participated in dhiTECHHACK 2021: Group Innovation Challenge 2021 which was conducted on 22nd October 2021 at Le Meridian, Thimphu. The team was formed from Strategy, Planning and Business Development Department, Strategy & Technology Services, BPC. A total of 9 teams from various DHI companies participated in the competition. BPC with an idea of EV2X (Electric Vehicle to any load) Concept as an Ancillary Energy Sources to Mitigate Power Outages /Power Deficit took 2nd place with cash price of Nu. 75,000/-. BPC is now looking forward to implement its first EV2X project at its Corporate Head Office, Thimphu using its 3EVs to encourage public to go green and clean with efficient use of their available resources.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), BPC welcomed back the nine (9) BPC employees who had volunteered to go to Phuentsholing. These volunteers had assisted Electricity Services Division, Phuentsholing for the daily operation & maintenance of lines and also to execute the work for providing constructional power to the 400 bedded quarantine facility. The volunteers served for almost two (2) months at Phuentsholing, underwent the mandatory 7 days quarantine in Thimphu and have returned back safely.

The CEO hosted a lunch for the volunteers and awarded certificate of appreciation to the volunteers.
BPC thanks them for their self-less act and wishes them a safe journey back to their respective offices.
