On August 16, 2024, BPC successfully launched the integration of its BPC Job Portal and Self Meter Reading (Online Billing Portal) with the Bhutan NDI system, allowing users to authenticate and access both portals using the Bhutan NDI credentials.
This integration enhances security and user convenience, streamline user to access both portals using a single digital identity. The process involved API integration, system configuration, and extensive testing to ensure seamless operation.
The occasion was graced by the Chief Executive Officer and Members of the Management. Chief Executive Officer commended the hard work and competence of the BPC IT team for having done the integration in-house and before the deadline.


SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING(RPL) ASSESSMENT FOR TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION TECHNICIANS
Bhutan Power Corporation Limited, in collaboration with the Bhutan Qualifications and Professionals Certificate Authority (BQPCA) under the Ministry of Education and Skill Development (MoESD), recently completed the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment for Transmission and Distribution Technicians.
The RPL assessment occurred from July 8, 2024, to July 20, 2024, and involved 74-line staff from the nationwide Distribution and Transmission Departments. The primary objective of this assessment was to enable technicians to obtain the NC2 Certificate. This certification process ensures that employees possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude required by the industry.
This assessment represents a significant step towards enhancing the professional development of our workforce and ensuring high standards in the transmission and distribution of power across Bhutan. We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants for their dedication and commitment.

INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED STATE OF THE ART CENTRAL WAREHOUSE AT SINGYE, PASAKHA
The Honorable Chief Executive Officer, Bhutan Power Corporation Limited inaugurated the newly constructed State of the Art Central Warehouse at Singye, Pasakha on May 10, 2024. The momentous occasion was attended by Director (DD), Director (CPD), GM (PD) and heads of BPC Divisions and external relevant agencies in Phuentsholing. The warehouse is constructed for Central Stores, Procurement Division, Phuentsholing for storing utility materials which will then be distributed to all micro-stores and other users in the country. The multi-level store (three level) is constructed using pre-engineered building (PEB) with all the modern warehouse features such as industrial lifts, racks and EOT crane and is designed for operating forklifts and reach trucks for efficient operation and management of materials. The warehouse marks a new milestone in BPC that will help Central Stores to efficiently manage receipt, storage and dispatch of materials as per latest industry practices and thereby will contribute to enhanced inventory management system in BPC.


In a bid to reinforce its commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices, the Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC) recently collaborated with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to undergo intensive training sessions. These sessions aimed at bolstering BPC’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, ensuring that its projects align with global best practices.
The IFC conducted two comprehensive training programs for BPC personnel. Firstly, spanning from the 19th to the 20th of March, an in-depth training session focused on framing Environmental Social Governance (ESG), delving into IFC’s Performance standards relevant to BPC’s projects. This training also explored gender dynamics and addressed risks associated with gender-based violence and harassment.
Subsequently, from the 25th to the 26th of March, another two-day session centered on FIDIC Strategic and Contract Management Training. This segment provided BPC engineers and project employees with practical insights into the utilization of FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
The primary goal of these initiatives is to elevate BPC’s sustainability standards and enhance its practices in Environment, Social, and Governance realms. By equipping BPC with tools for integrating environmental and social considerations into its operations, and refining contract management skills, the initiative aims to fortify BPC’s position as a socially responsible entity.
BPC’s proactive engagement in such training programs not only aligns with global trends towards responsible business practices but also positions the corporation as a regional leader. By actively contributing to a more sustainable and socially responsible business environment, BPC sets a benchmark for others to follow.
