HRAD conducted Re-orientation Session

Re-orientation session was conducted in Board Room on June 22, 2022, for the officials who have returned to office from the Maternity Leave (2021 & 2022), LTTP; and Deputation.

The session was organized and imparted by HRAD and HRCS to familiarize officials with BPC’s current work environment and to help them with a smooth transition back to the office after a long gap. The session was very interactive as officials shared their part of experiences during the deputation, LTTP, and maternity leave. The officials also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the respective offices for providing unconditional support, assistance, and cooperation during such a period.  Furthermore, the officials suggested that such session is encouraged more as it is helpful for employees to get acquainted with the current work environment.

The staff of ESD, 200 kV TLMSD, Puna II- TMPO, Tsirang jointly observed Zero Waste Hour on June 2 2022. The volunteers collected 50 bags of waste. The wastes were segregated next day to dry and wet before loading in a municipal waste collector vehicle

Bhutan Power Corporation Limited conducted a cleaning campaign to observe the ‘WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY’ 2022 by cleaning the adopted section of Chubachu Stream in Thimphu near the Chubachu substation area.

BPC has been cleaning the Chubachu stream yearly starting 2017 either on ‘WORLD WATER DAY’ or ‘WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY’. BPC adopted a 200-meter stretch of Chubachu stream near Chubachhu Power Substation to clean and maintain periodically in 2017 on the “WORLD WATER DAY”-22nd March 2017 which was launched as a pilot project to clean and maintain streams and rivers of Bhutan by the National Environment Commission Secretariat (NECS) in partnership with Bhutan Red Cross Society (BRCS), Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN), Clean Bhutan, Thimphu Thromde and various stakeholders.

Environment, GIS, and Survey Division, BPC coordinated the cleaning program with about 16 volunteers from the BPC head office and collected about 20 bags of waste from the area and took them directly to the Meymey Lakha Landfill area for proper dumping. The waste collected comprised household wastes, pet bottles, old rugs and clothes, construction debris, baby diapers, sanitary pads, etc.

Now, our valued customers can seamlessly interact with our customer service agents through the mentioned service channels in addition to our toll-free no. 1250.

With the launch of this project, we have now achieved what has been envisaged for the Omni-Channel Contact Center System requirement in BPC Digital Strategy 2020-2025.The project was developed in collaboration with Zealous Systems Pvt. Ltd.

The first cohort of one-day training on “Gender Equality and Workplace Harassment was successfully conducted by the Institute of Management Studies, Serbithang, Thimphu for BPC on May 20, 2022. The training was provided to employees (senior and mid-level) to create awareness of the concept of gender equality and harassment in the workplace which would help BPC realize the expectation outlined in the DHI Group Policy Framework on Gender Equality 2021.
